Chhalaang: Rajkummar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha's film will now release on THIS date

Originally titled Turram Khan, Chhalaang was earlier scheduled to be released on March 13. Directed by Hansal Mehta. The film is a social comedy based in a small town in Uttar Pradesh.

The release of Rajkummar Rao, Nushrat Bharucha starrer Chhalaang has been pushed to June 12, the makers announced on Thursday. Originally titled Turram Khan, the film was earlier scheduled to be released on March 13. Directed by Hansal Mehta,The producers of the film have taken this decision keeping in mind exams and a good distribution window. The film is a social comedy based in a small town in Uttar Pradesh and also features Mohammad Zeeshan Ayub and Saurabh Shukla. The makers of Chhalaang shared the new poster and announced the new release date. While sharing the latest news about the release date makers write, "Ab Lenge #Chhalaang 12th June Ko! Producer Luv Ranjan said in a statement, “We feel Chhalaang is one of the most inspiring and heartening movies to come out of Luv Films and such a special film deserves a better release.”

The project is produced by Ajay Devgn, Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg.

Chhalaang marks the fifth collaboration between Mehta and Rao after critically acclaimed films such as Shahid, Citylights, Aligarh and Omerta.

Rajkumar Rao and Nushrat Bharucha previously starred together in 2010 anthology drama Love Sex Aur Dhokha.

Meanwhile, Rajkummar is currently shooting for horror-comedy Roohi Afza, alongside Janhvi Kapoor, which is being produced by Dinesh Vijan of Maddock films, who had also bankrolled 2018's blockbuster horror-comedy Stree. On the other hand, Nushrat, who was last seen with Ayushmann Khurrana in this year's superhit comedy, Dream Girl, will next be seen in Hurdang opposite Vicky Kaushal's kid brother, Sunny Kaushal.
