Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall has revealed whether or not he'll be returning for series 13 alongside the 13th Doctor, Jodie Whittaker.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly ahead of series 12's two-part finale, Chibnall confirmed that, yes, he is "coming back for a third season".
We guess the number 13 isn't so unlucky after all.
Not only is Chibnall confirmed to lead the show for one more season, the writer is already carving out the story, too. "We are already planning the stories," he teased. "Once you see the end of this series, you'll realise there are some stories we're already setting in train for next series."

Promising yet another series that has us questioning everything we thought we knew about Doctor Who, Chibnall added: "We have very big, ambitious plans for our third series together."
As for when fans can expect to see Thirteen return for series 13, it's looking like another year-long wait. "It will be next year sometime, hopefully", Chibnall said of its air date. "Unless my holiday goes on for a really long time, which is always tempting."
Fortunately, series 12 isn't over just yet, with the penultimate episode 'Ascension of the Cybermen' airing this weekend (Sunday, February 23), ahead of 'The Timeless Children' the week after.

'The Timeless Children' is expected to shed light on one of the lingering mysteries from throughout the Thirteenth Doctor era – but not without some pain along the way, with the official synopsis warning: "'This is going to hurt.'"
Doctor Who airs on BBC One in the UK and BBC America in the US.
